Something Fishy Is Going On 🐟 Plus, How To Speak Cat

Lazing on my porch in the sun, I could hear my buddy, Marlow, the hairless cat next door, having a heart-to-heart with his feline friend.

His friend was brokenhearted, pining for his lover following a recent break-up.

Trying to cheer him up, Marlow said to him soothingly, “There’s plenty more fish in the sea”

Is there? I thought to myself as I fell asleep.

After my nap, I did some digging.

It turns out that Marlow's words may be a little out of date.

Once upon a time, there were plenty of fish in the sea.

But today, fish are vanishing, whilst plastic fills the oceans.

I wonder how many other sayings used worldwide will eventually mean the opposite of what they once intended.

Would Marlow's mate have found comfort in "there’s plenty more plastic in the sea"?

It doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

DID YOU KNOW...

A fish's body temperature changes as it swims through different water temperatures.

Well, mostly. Fish are cold-blooded (with a few exceptions), so their environment regulates their body temperature.

But, like humans and other animals, that doesn’t mean they will survive in any environment; we all have limits.

Fishes survive across a scale of temperatures (see what I did there?).

ANDRE SNIFFS OUT THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

'Andre, I want my cat, Clover, to know I love her.  What is the best way to show her?'

Aww, what a thoughtful question.

I’ve long been a fan of Jackson Galaxy, a unique and entertaining cat whisperer.

I checked in with my cat pal, Marlow, about some of Jackson's advice, and Marlow says he is spot on.

Jackson has 5 top ways to show your cat you love them. Not every way may work with your puss; after all, like every other animal, cats have their own personalities and preferences.

As I say with pets, if humans take the time to notice their pets and understand their likes, dislikes, and quirks, it goes a long way toward forming a loving bond.

Check out this short Jackson Galaxy video on how to tell your cat I love you , and may you shower Clover with love!

HUMANS WHO PLAY NICE WITH THE PLANET®

Sungai Watch are warriors fighting to keep rivers clean to help stem the tide of plastic filling the oceans.

Getting down and dirty to do good, their work has transformed rivers in Indonesia.

You can jump right in with them or donate to their noble plight via their website.

As I always say, dirty dog, clean planet!

That's all for this issue.  I'm off to fish some plastic out of the river!

See you next time.

Howling out,
Andre
